Join professionals from the New York State tourism industry at the 6th Annual Empire State Tourism Conference, to be held March 6 to 8, 2012, at the Marriott Hotel, 189 Wolf Road, Albany, New York. The conference is hosted by the New York State Travel & Vacation Association (NYSTVA). The theme of the conference is "The Power of the Tourism Industry: Producing Visitation, Raising Tax Dollars, and Creating Jobs."

The Empire State Tourism Conference follows the tourism industry's annual lobby day in Albany - Tourism Action Day - slated for March 6th, 2012 at the Legislative Office Building. The conference will kick off at 5:30 pm on March 6th with an opening reception at the Marriott. On Wednesday March 7th, the day will begin with a keynote address by Dr. Bill Siegel, founder of the Longwoods Group of Companies, speaking on the Power of Destination Marketing. Following that address, additional professional develop opportunities will include seminar sessions focusing on marketing trends, emerging media marketing, research, partnerships, and more.

Tourism industry professionals are also encouraged to submit their projects for the Tourism Excellence Awards to be presented during lunch on March 7th.
